Greetings Gan Ramat Gan families! On the English side of things last week, the children enjoyed their second week of learning about our solar system, and they are having an absolute blast with this unit. I am also having a blast teaching this unit! They are learning little tidbits of information on each planet, as well as our closest star, the sun. I have introduced some new solar system songs, shared some videos of real astronauts at the space station doing everyday things, and watched a space shuttle take off, and then land. I read about seven different space books that Ms. Sam picked up from the library, and they played with my toy astronauts, rockets, space shuttles, and satellites during either center time or math time (mostly during math). They are loving every bit of this unit! We are also continuing to work on letter and sound recognition, rhyming words, counting, and putting quantities to numbers. The activity of the week was to create their very own rockets using paper towel tubes, the cone shaped paper cups, tissue paper and the paint sticks. This week we will be working on constellations, asteroids, and nebulas. Below are items that we need.
Ms. Cind Moments of the Week:
