Greetings Gan Ramat Gan parents and families! Congratulations! your child has made it through the first week of school! This week was all about getting aclimated to the classroom rules and routines, so our true lessons have not truly begun. On the English side of things, my focus this week was basically to teach and model how to sit on the carpet, transition throughout the day, walk through the hallways (bathroom/outside). They were introduced to the mystery box, which is used to introduce an area of play. We reviewed the rules of the carpet daily, which are: mouths are quiet (shh), eyes are watching, ears are listening, hands in lap, criss cross applesauce, and hands raised if you want to ask/answer a question, or just share something with the class. We practiced this all week, and each day was better than the last. I read many books, but here are a few favorites: If You Take a Mouse to School. Hugs from Pearl, The Color Monster, Peanut Butter & Cupcake, and Mighty, Mighty Construction Site. The children loved these books, and I loved sharing them! Next week will yield new and exciting learning adventures! Best Regards! Ms. Cindy Shalom! We started to sing in Hebrew this week. Our favorite song is Uga, uga, uga. The most important words of the song are: lashevet - to sit lakum - to stand Play this song to us and see what happens. When we go to the bathroom we practice washing our hands with soap and water. sabon - soap mayim - water In the morning we say boker tov - good morning We also like to dance in the morning. Play our favorite dance music for us at home! Moments of the Week:
