This week Ms. Alexander conducted assessments about letters and numbers in English. On Wednesday we honored Black History Month with a friendly championship game with Gan Galilee. We learned so much: Hebrew We know how to introduce ourselves and how to say basketball. Hashem sheli ...... - My name is .... Ani .... - I am.... Kadursal - Basketball We also tried to recognize numbers on our jerseys in Hebrew. English We learned the name of an NBA or WNBA player. Together with Gan Galilee we honored and learned about 39 African American basketball players. We know many of our peers' "basketball name" as well. (for example if we say Magic or Reggie, Row and Noel are answering) Thanks to Ms. Alexander, we have beautiful glitter letters on our Jerseys, so we can practice letter recognition any time we wear them. In the meantime here is a short preview of us and Alana Beard Hebrew We continued to learn about clothes and colors. We listened to the story of Giveret Shir (Mrs. Song) who has to decide about the color of her hats, shirts and skirts everyday. The author, Datiya Ben Dor is reading the story. When we hear kova (hat) which is a masculine noun we use the following colors (adjectives): kova adom - red hat kova tzahov - yellow hat kova kahol - blue hat When we hear hultza (shirt) or hatzait (skirt) which are feminine nouns in Hebrew, we use the following colors (adjectives) aduma - red (feminine) tzeuba - yellow (f) khula - blue (f) Watch the video below and listen to the difference between the masculine and feminine adjectives ( different ways of saying the colors): Song of the Week: (First 6 minutes of the video below - two songs we enjoyed a lot.)
