Ramat Ganians were very busy in the weeks prior to Spring Break. We learned about food groups, milked a cow, prepared butter, ate our own home made butter with bread, then we prepared fruit smoothie with Ms. Alexander. We also made our own bread dough and tasted our own bread on last Thursday. On Friday we prepared pancakes and ate them. Food, Ms. Alexander and Us (slideshow) On Friday we celebrated Noah, Kaila and Levi. We are now 4, MAZAL TOV!!! We discovered our Universe, built amazing structures and painted with our fingers. School is fun. We finished the clothing Unit in Hebrew, prepared a collage board with our favorite cartoon characters and spoke about their clothes. Our favorite Hebrew song is Hinei ma tov.... Let us sing it in the Spring Break. Happy Holidays! See you soon!

This week Ms. Alexander read us a classic story about the Stone Soup. "This book is about two pigs who are traveling through a town and are very hungry. They ask all around the town for some food but the whole town has put up their food and they are unwilling to share with the travelers. So the two pigs make a magical soup called stone soup which most of the town eventually contributes to". We continued to plant seeds in the classroom and we can't wait to take them out to our garden next week. This week we recreated "Pishpesh" who is the hero of our Hebrew book and dressed him up (glued hat, shirt and pants on his picture). We also designed beautiful shirts with tempera paint and hung them on our clothing line. We started to read a Hebrew rhyme book. Every week we are going to post here a rhyme we read. Rhyme of the week in Hebrew: Ma ochelet Chana? (What is Hanna eating?) Chana ochelet banana. (Hanna is eating banana.) Mystery Reader On Wednesday we had a special mystery reader visiting us. Theo, Mackenzie's brother, read for the class. Thank you Theo for coming in! You can watch the reading of the story and our active class with questions and comments here. Song/Dance of the Week: During Parent Teacher Conferences we realized that you were wondering what your child was singing at home. So here we share with you the mystery song. This is an Israeli hip hop song/dance in Hebrew. The title of the song is To Do Bom. This is a children version of the video (in class we only play the music) The story of the original song is about aliens arriving to Tel Aviv. Ramat Ganians continued to learn about healthy food choices this week. They started to plant vegetables and have food related activities with Ms. Alexander. At our Hebrew center we continued to learn about clothing. One of our favorite games is the following: We draw domino cards from a tissue box with pictures of clothing items. If you would like to play this game you can download our clothing domino file below. (cut only by the thin lines) Then we say : " Yesh li kova vemeil = I have hat and coat." This way we learn how to link words in Hebrew with "and" We walk to the chalk board and draw tallies next to the picture of our clothing items. After two rounds we count our tallies in Hebrew on the chalk board and practice writing numbers. We also prepared our closet and glued our clothes inside (see pictures below)
On Thursday we screened the PreK3 All Stars movie and wore our jerseys. We love to see ourselves on the screen. See several versions of this pic below. We are so special that it is impossible to take one perfect picture of us. Video of the Week: (32 minutes children's program about clothing in Hebrew) Moments of the Week: |
