We read a beautiful book in Hebrew this week: Rabbit in the Train.

Next to the small house is a station. bayt katan - small house leyad - next to At the station two cats are getting into the train. (feminine and masculine) chatula levana - white cat (f) chatul - cat (m) zanav - tail igul - circle Listen and watch the story below: We started playing both language and math games in small groups. We also practiced taking turns. One of the games we practiced was Dominoes. It is a great tool to learn how to count, play a game and match numbers with the dominoes. - We also have our own clothing-themed dominoes game. We practiced the Hebrew words (kova-hat, chulza- shirt, michnasayim - pants, naalayim - shoes, meil-coat, caif -scarf, simla - dress) and played the game at the Hebrew Center. If you would like to create the clothing dominoes at home you can download the file here. If you can't print it at home, let me know and I will print the pages for you.
We played other math games in the afternoons as well.

We had a very short week, we practiced the Hebrew words about our closet.
Ramat Ganians love to sing and they learn Hebrew and English words much better when they learn the words through songs. "Neuroscience proves that group singing makes us happier, healthier, smarter and more creative. Every time you sing, you fire up the right temporal lobe of your brain, and release endorphins including oxytocin which result in heightened states of pleasure, bliss, bonding and love." Huffington Post We prepared two new playlists recently. The first one was for Martin Luther King Day. It was amazing to see how in the morning many of our students could not pronounce the name of Dr. King and by the afternoon everyone was fluent due to the songs. The second playlist contains our favorite Hebrew songs. Play it to us and we will sing them at home. “THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITY for building knowledge for their eventual success in reading is reading aloud to children,” Ms. Alexander reads a lot of stories during Morning Meetings and in the afternoons. We are posting two videos of these sessions: We March and Green Eggs and Ham Have a great weekend with Peace Love and Happiness!
